A Poem for Our First.

I won’t forget, it was the very first test – how lucky we were; you were such a gift.

I won’t forget the excitement we felt; our plans for the future, when you were finally out. We made up your room, folded your onesies, put books on the shelves, and went through your plushies.

I won’t forget the movements so strong; the kicks, rolls, and hiccups, then the day they were gone.

I won’t forget how I felt when I held you, touching your cheek, and saying I loved you. Your nose was so little, you were so small, I could hold you forever, not a moment too long.

I won’t forget that today was the day, you came into this world but still left us the same. One year or five years, it won't make a difference, we will always and forever feel your presence.

*

One year past, on Mother’s Day of all days; a day so hard yet we will always treasure. Our first son, Brayden; our Baby B forever.
